God has always wanted His children to enjoy times of refreshing. But as in all times, His love can only reach us when we leave our sins behind and repent of our self-centered ways. “How often I wanted to gather you together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings…”(Mat 23:37). These are the words of a compassionate Jesus, crying out to you and I, as surely as He is “a father to the fatherless and a defender of the widows” (Ps 68:5). His promises to us are plenty: “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and through the rivers, they will not overwhelms you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned or scorched, nor will the flame kindle upon you.” (Isa 43:2).
